The honest summary: it depends how often you use it

Magic Hour's Creator plan is $15/month, or $10/month if you pay for a year up front. That is good value if face swapping is part of your routine — you get a monthly credit allowance and 1.4 hours of video.

PhotoHero starts at $4.99 for 200 credits that never expire. For someone who needs a batch of swaps this week and nothing next month, that is a fundamentally better shape: you spend five dollars once instead of committing to a hundred and twenty a year.

Neither is a trick. Pick by frequency, not by feature list.

Where Magic Hour is more generous than us

Magic Hour lets you run 5 photo face swaps per day with no account whatsoever — no sign up, no download. PhotoHero also needs no account to try: you can upload, detect faces and run a few image swaps a day anonymously, with a preview watermark; the account is for video and watermark-free results.

If your priority is trying something right now without handing over an email, Magic Hour is the better answer, and we would rather tell you that than have you find out after signing up.

Watermarks and credit expiry

Both tools are watermark-free on paid output, and both are clean on the free signup credits — PhotoHero's 100 credits produce exactly the files a paid credit does. The difference is at the no-account tier, and it favours Magic Hour: its no-signup photo swaps come out clean, while PhotoHero marks its no-signup previews with a diagonal "PREVIEW" watermark that creating a free account removes. Magic Hour's free video and GIF swaps do carry a watermark.

On expiry the two are aligned and both unusually good: Magic Hour rolls unused credits over with no expiration, and PhotoHero credits never expire either. Several competitors cannot say the same.
